The Berdan Drinking Water Treatment Plant was completed in December 2023. 82 percent of the healthy drinking water is supplied to four central districts of Mersin, while the remaining 18 percent supplies the Tarsus district.
The plant consists of three units, each with a capacity of 130,000 m³/day. The Pumping Station and Aeration Basin are shared facilities for all units. In addition, all pipelines, valves, pumps, gates, and the SCADA system between the basins were renewed, transforming the system into a fully automated structure.
